From Lifehacker, I got a post that connected me to The Tofu Hut.   This has introduced me to a whole new use of blogs that I didn't know existed.  It's best just to provide the explanation from this site:

A musicblogger/audioblogger/MP3blogger is a person who offers interesting, out of print, rare or otherwise engaging music to people at no charge, out of love for the sound and to promote artists that they would like to see get more popular. I'm not prejudiced; I also include record label sites, artist's personal sites, people who aggregate the daily adventures of other musicbloggers into digests... I like em all.

What you WON'T find in here are file directories without commentary or sites offering a full album that is currently in print. Audioblogging is NOT about piracy; it's about selectively sharing sounds.

There are more musicbloggers out there than most people would believe; I've been keeping a close eye on the phenomena for about two years and have compiled what I think is the most comprehensive list of musicbloggers yet available.

Following this explanation is a bunch of links grouped by genre of music.  Each link is in itself a blog, but when you click a link, you are actually clicking a MP3 file of music.   Since most of the music isn't what you can get at your local music store or on a site such as I-Tunes, it opens up music that you probably cannot find anywhere else.

Where could this go?  Well, what if podcasting combines with MP3 or Musicblogging to provide a whole new outlet for new artists.  Through viral marketing based on word of mouth on the web, these people can get "discovered" using only simple recording tools that are currently available for podcasters.  Very cool stuff!
